  1. 1) Theology:

The word “theology” comes from two Greek words; ‘theos’ – which means “God” and ‘logos’ (in English ‘ology’) which means “word”. Combined, the word theology means “words about God” or “the study of God”. Theology can also be defined as God’s relation to the world.

    2) Collective Unconscious:

Jung developed a theory on the unconscious that included new concepts. The most important being the archetype. Archetype is simply defined as a very typical example of a certain person or thing and they constitute the structure of the collective unconscious. According Jung, archetypes are psychic innate dispositions or personalities that represent basic human behaviour and situations. They are manifested through archetypal images, in dreams and visions. Eg. If we are all told to envision a ‘wise old man’, majority of us would imagine an old man with grey hair and a beard, possibly with glasses, and this is a universal depiction most would envision of a ‘wise old man’ in our minds.
The collective unconscious is a universal datum (or piece of information) that every human being, with psychic archetypal images, shares. It is an innate consciousness we all share that can be described as a universal library of human knowledge, the very transcendental wisdom that guides mankind.

“The collective unconscious - so far as we can say anything about it at all - appears to consist of mythological motifs or primordial images, for which reason the myths of all nations are its real exponents. In fact, the whole of mythology could be taken as a sort of projection of the collective unconscious... We can therefore study the collective unconscious in two ways, either in mythology or in the analysis of the individual.” (Carl Jung, 1969).

    3) Aesthetic:

“Aesthetic” is derived from the Greek word ‘aisthētikós’ meaning “the pertaining (or concern) to sense perception”. “Aesthetic” in relation to science means the study of the mind and emotions in relations to the sense of beauty. It can also be defined as one’s set of principles or worldview expressed through their outward appearance, behaviour or actions.
In simpler terms, "aesthetic" is the perception or view we have in regards to beauty, what is beautiful and what is ugly.

    4) What is an 'innocent reading' ?

“Innocent reading” can be defined as one who reads with an uninformed gaze, not grasping or reconciling the intentions of the author or the essence of the text. For example, adult humor within children movies will go straight over the child’s head, whereas an adult or an informed watcher will understand the undertones and implicated meaning of the joke.

  2. 1) theology
'Theology' was originally applied only to Christianity in late Middle English(Wikipedia, 2017, August 11). It is the study of the nature of God, religious belief and theory when systematically developed. (Dictionary.com, n.d.).

    2) collective unconscious
It is a term coined by Carl Jung, refers to structures of the unconscious mind which are shared among beings of the same species(Wikipedia, 2017, August 10). The part of the unconscious mind which is derived from ancestral memory and experience and is common to all humankind, as distinct from the individual's unconscious (Wikipedia, 2017, August 10).

    4) What is an 'innocent reading' ?
Innocent reading refers to the circumstance that readers read and make comments without noticing any racial or political stuff, particularly when children and young readers reading novels or graphic novels like Tintin, for example. When those readers are getting older, they start noticing some issues like racial or political representation. Then they may find problems arisen in the texts they have read. At that moment, they have lost their innocent reading because they have got adult mature responses and reactions.

    1) Theology
Theology is the “study and explanation of religious faith, practice, and experience.” (Merriam Webster, n.d).
Such as that of “God and of God's relation to the world.” (Merriam Webster, n.d)

    2) Collective unconscious
The collective unconscious is part a deep part of the psyche. It’s not derived from personal experience or acquisition but instead we are born with it, its universal rather than individual. Its content and modes of behaviour are the same everywhere constituting to a common psychic substrate of a super natural nature.

    3) Aesthetic
Appearance. The philosophical theory or set of principles governing the idea of beauty at a given time and place.

    4) What is an 'innocent reading'?
Innocent reading is when a text is innocently read for the basis of the story. The reader doesn’t pick up on controversial topics such as politics, racism, adult humour and sexism etc. Such as children when children read Tintin Blue lotus, they read a story of a man helping his friends instead of recognising the political discourse that is taking place. Later when readers start to recognise the underlying meaning and notice the symbolism which could relate to a more controversial topic, they lose their innocent reading.

    1. 1)Theology

“Theology is the critical study of the nature of the divine” (Wikipedia, 2017, August 18).Theology is an English translation of the Greek “Theologia”. “Theos” means “God” and “-logia” means “utterances, sayings or oracles”. The combination of “God” and “Word” in Theology can be defined as religious belief and theory of God.

      2)Collective unconscious
Collective unconscious is a term coined by Carl Jung. Jung stated that collective unconscious is developed by instincts and archetypes. The collective unconscious can support and surround the unconscious mind, it can be distinguished from the personal unconscious of Freudian psychoanalysis. The personal unconscious arizes from individual experience (Wikipedia, 2017, August 18).

      #)Aesthetic
Aesthetic came from the Greek – “aisthetikos”, it means “esthetic, sensitive, sentient, pertaining to sense perception”. Aesthetic is one part of philosophy, it is the appreciation and creation of nature of art, beauty, and taste. In modern English, aesthetic can be a set of principles of one particular art movement– “one speaks” such as Cubist aesthetic (Wikipedia, 2017, August 18).

      4)What is an "Innocent reading"
Innocent reading can be simply defined as readers approach the medium innocently, they will not read it critically or politically as other people do. For example, children will not notice the underlying message in the text but some adults do because children are not that well-informed like adults. Moreover, Innocent readers are more likely to approach the good aspects in the medium instead of downsides. So they will not notice the issues such as racism and eroticism in the text.
